Kildress Minors just about got the better of a thrilling encounter with an outstanding Killeeshil side at Gortacladdy last night, clinching a 2-13 to 2-11 win right at the death. Killeeshil had raced to a deserved eight point lead after 20 minutes but Kildress, helped by an Orny Loughran goal, rallied well to reach half-time just four points down and with wind advantage to come. Both teams gave their all in a riveting second-half and Kileeshil will have games where they play worse but come out with something at the end. Pauric Lagan’s 1-6 and Matthew McGuigan’s 0-5 underpinned Kildress’ win but this was fully a team victory, carved out with determination and style.
