Kildress’ position at the foot of Division II remains perilous after this comprehensive 0-9 to 3-13 defeat by a rampant Dungannon at Gortacladdy on Saturday. After falling a couple of points behind early on, Kildress rallied well to take a deserved 0-6 to 0-3 lead but after Enda McAleer went off injured, things just collapsed for them and either side of half-time The Clarkes scored a very impressive 2-8 without reply to totally settle the outcome. Kildress kept going and kept attacking, with Corey Holland a never-say-die presence for them, but their young team could only manage a further three points over the game’s final 40 minutes.
The Tones had good triers in Gerard Grimes, Dean McNally, Conor McAleer, the Holland twins, Matty McGuigan (0-4), Marty Grimes (0-1) and Philip Lennon (0-3) but they just looked like a team that’s currently finding everything very tough.
