Our seniors had near neighbours Rock as visitors in this week’s Division two ACL game. It was a well contested match with Rock getting off to the better start leading by five early on. Kildress closed the gap to three by half time with a number of Shea Quinn points and good efforts from Niall Connolly and Pauric Lagan. Half time score Kildress 0-8 Rock 1-8.
An incident packed second half started off with three Shea Murphy points and a black card for a Rock player. With ten minutes to go Kildress led by two, courtesy of two long range frees from Shea Quinn. Kildress were then reduced to fourteen men. The deciding score came in the24th minute when a long ball in was fisted to the Kildress net and Rock held on in a tight finish.
Niall Connolly, Calum Holland and Jack Loughran were good in defence while up front Shea Quinn was in fine form well supported by Shea Murphy, Pauric Lagan and Shea Tracey.
