Kildress Under 16s made no mistake with this fine 1-15 to 2-6 win at Gortacladdy earlier tonight that takes them through to the Grade II Under 16 League Final. Over the hour the Tones were consistently the better team and had they taken a higher percentage of the many chances they so cleverly created early on, the result here would have been clear from much earlier than it actually was.

Kildress took an early six-point lead that should have been greater, but a Dromore revival brought them back to within two points by half-time. Kildress re-grouped for the second half and edged ahead again before a brilliant Dromore goal pulled the gap back to three points. Yet again Kildress dug in and went on to kick the points that allowed them to close out the game as good winners. After the cruelty of Sunday’s last-gasp defeat at Drumragh, this was a first class response from Kildress against one of Tyrone’s traditional heavy hitters.
