Kildress were involved in yet another high quality and nerve-racking game this morning when an injury time goal very cruelly denied them victory in the Under 16 Championship at Drumragh, leaving the final score 1-13 to 3-9. The Tones found themselves behind by three at the break, largely because they hadn’t managed to take any of three brilliantly-created goal chances. By the three-quarter stage it looked game over as Kildress trailed by six but a Padraig Lynch goal brought them right back into it and they drove on to edge into a one-point lead as injury time ran out. The Tones had a couple of chances to seal it but Drumragh managed one last raid however and, following a quick free kick, got in for a well-finished goal that denied Kildress what would have been a merited victory.
Our Under 16s now re-group to play Dromore at Gortacladdy on Thursday evening, 10 September at 6.30pm in the League Semi-Final.
