Kildress bowed out of the Tyrone intermediate championship at the first-round stage but while Greencastle were worthy winners the Tones pushed them all the way and it was only late in the game that the winners pulled away.

The first half was evenly contested with Greencastle holding an 0-5 to 0-3 lead at the break with Corey Holland hitting two excellent long-range points.

In the second half Greencastle had stretched their lead to three points when with ten minutes to go Shea Quinn took an inch perfect pass from Johnny Connolly and fired to the net to level matters.

Both teams give it their all in the final stages but as the game headed into injury time it was the greater experience of Greencastle that shone through with two late goals to clinch their place in the Quarter Final.
