Kildress hosted Naomh Eoghan on Wednesday night in a game where the points on offer were vital for both teams. The first half was a close encounter with the lead changing hands throughout. A brace of points each from Oisin McDonald and Shea Quinn helped the Tones take a half time lead of 0-6 to 0-5.
The second half continued in the same vein until a Shea Quinn goal put Kildress three up with fifteen minutes to go. This was a lead they were to hold until two minutes into injury time when Naomh Eoghan struck with a late goal to gain a share of the spoils.
It was a disappointing finish for the home team who produced a very determinate all-round performance but their failure to turn a large number of chances created into scores was their downfall.
