Intermediate League – Kildress 2-08 Beragh 0-06
The Seniors opened their 2024 Division Two league campaign with a convincing victory over Beragh Red Knights. The first half was well contested with Kildress leading by five points to four as half time approached. An injury time goal from Caolan McNamee sent Kildress into the break leading 1-5 to 0-4. Shea Quinn (3) and Shea Murphy (2) with their points. Despite intense Beragh pressure for most of the second half the home team defended brilliantly holding the visitors to one point for the entire half. A Shea Murphy goal with ten minutes to go gave the Tones the momentum they needed to close out the game. Murphy also hit three points with Pauric Lagan completing the scoring with a long range point
Conor McAleer, Jack Loughran and Cormac Loughran were best in a very strong defensive unit while Shea Quinn, Shea Murphy, Corey Holland and Shea Tracey were always prominent in attack. A special mention to Michael Crawley who returned to duty after a long absence, he was a member of our 2011 Intermediate championship winning team, and turned in a very composed display.

Reserve League – Kildress 0-20 Beragh 4-6
The Reserves great start to the season continued with a home win against a spirited Beragh Team on Friday night . The Tones looked comfortable in this game but had to withstand a late onslaught from the Red Knights. Kildress had great contributions from all over the park which included 11 different players chipping in with points. The Tones captain Cathal Heagney impressed throughout the evening, best in defense were Cormac Loughran and Oisin McDonald and up front Paul Connolly was on fire racking up 8 points and giving the umpire on the white flag a sore arm.
