Kildress made it three away wins out of three with a comprehensive 3-16 to 1-9 over Brackaville earlier tonight. The Tones never looked back from Matty McGuigan scoring a goal straight from the throw-in and were relentless throughout the hour, finishing as they had started, with a goal, this one from Adam Connolly, in the game’s final seconds. Kildress were strong, pacy and very accurate, a combination that every team seeks.

Once again they were good all over the field (they had 10 different scorers), with Matty McGuigan (1-7 in total) a particular cutting edge, the powerful Eoin Brannigan (1-1) having as good a game as he’s ever had for Kildress and full-back Callum Holland again shining. By the end of the first quarter Kildress were leading 1-5 to 0-3 before a well-worked Brackaville goal threatened to make it a real contest. That goal however pepped up Kildress and from there to half-time they rattled off another 1-5 without reply to lead at the break by 2-10 to 1-3.

Play evened up in the second half with the Owen Roes for some time just edging the scoring, but again Kildress were able to step things up as and when they needed. Stephen McGurk, Des Tracey, Jonny Connolly and Marty Grimes were always steadying influences whilst Corey Holland, Caolan McNamee and Stephen Loughran were constant threats up front.

Martin McErlaine as referee was central to another free-flowing and entertaining game.
